Description

LABORATORY GRADE. PRECISE. SIMPLE. AUTOMATED.
The Milwaukee MI456 PRO Mini Titrator simplifies the measurement of total titratable acidity. The MI456 PRO uses a neutralization reaction: the reaction between the acids found in the wine and a base. This type of reaction forms the basis of titration methods for analyzing acids. Titratable acidity is measured in a degassed sample at the endpoint of 8.20 for Australian requirements and 7.00 to meet European Union requirements. Both results are expressed in g/L of tartaric acid. The MI456 PRO mini titrator automatically dispenses the titer, determines the endpoint, and completes calculations in a fraction of the time required for manual titration. The MI456 PRO mini titrator uses a pre-programmed method and a laboratory pH electrode combined with an algorithm to determine the end of the titration reaction.

SUMMARY
The Milwaukee MI456 PRO TA Mini Titrator is preferred by winemakers looking for faster results with lower costs and simple operation.

The Milwaukee PRO TA Mini Titrator offers:

ACCURACY
The MI456 PRO Mini Titrator has an accuracy of 5% of the reading with a resolution of 0.1 g/L with a range of 0.0 to 25.0 g/L of tartaric acid. The titrator uses a piston pump for precise dynamic dosing, a built-in magnetic stirrer for faster reaction, and a lab-grade pH electrode.

SIMPLICITY
The MI456 PRO mini titrator is designed for simple one-button operation with pre-standardized titrator and pre-measured reagents for easy setup.

AUTOMATED OPERATION
The MI456 PRO mini titrator uses a precision piston metering pump that dynamically adjusts the dosing volume as the voltage changes. With the MI456 PRO mini titifier, you get a faster result without the need for manual intervention or calculation.

DESIGN FEATURES
– Fast, easy-to-read results
– Accuracy of ± 5% read
– Easy measurement: simply measure the wine sample, add the reagents as directed, prepare the pH probe and pump, add the stabilizer and start titration by pressing the start
button- Refillable double-junction laboratory pH electrode for quick results with a screw cap to ensure proper
storage- Automatic temperature compensation from 0.0 to 100.0 C with included temperature
probe- Compact Design with a footprint of only 8.2 x 8.4 inches
– The built-in stirrer automatically stays at a speed of 1500 rpm.
– Built-in algorithm to analyze the shape of the electrode response and to determine the completion of the reaction that automatically completes the analysis, makes all the necessary calculations and ensures a simple and effective interface for the user
– Simple and reliable peristaltic pump that ensures high dosing repeatability with the ability to calibrate to Milwaukee standards provided

CARE AND USE
PH electrodes usually begin to malfunction due to problems with the probe. The two parts of the pH probe that cause problems are the glass sensing bulb and the reference junction.

SENSOR BULB
The glass bulb loses sensitivity with use and will eventually fail. This is true for all pH probes.

REFERENCE
BINDING The reference junction is a small hole that allows the measuring instrument to compare the sample to a reference. The reading is generated based on the electrical difference between the sample and the reference. If the attachment hole becomes clogged, the pH electrode will stop working.

You can extend the life of your pH electrode in the following ways.

CLEANING & STORAGE
All pH sensors have a limited shelf life and response time increases with age. Proper maintenance of your pH electrode will give you fast and accurate results for longer. Therefore, be sure to order the Milwaukee maintenance kit with the code PH-Main at checkout. This will be necessary to help clean and condition the pH electrode before use!

STORAGE
To minimize clogging, the pH probe should be kept hydrated. Extended periods of dry storage will damage the sensitivity of the probe. Allowing the catheter to dry can also result in clogging of the attachment hole.

Storage in the MA9015 pH Probe Storage Solution or pH Calibration Buffers will help address both issues. Do not store in tap water or deionized water. This will damage the sensitivity of the tube.

The best way to store the probe is with the probe lid filled with storage solution or calibration buffer and the lid tightened to prevent leakage. It is also recommended to store the electrode upright to further reduce the chance of leakage.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
Sample residue can affect the sensitivity of the sensing bulb and obstruct the junction. This is especially true if the sample has a lot of organic material. We recommend regularly soaking your electrode in the MA9016 cleaning solution. Also:

1. Inspect the electotrode for damage or scratches; If present, replace the electrode.

2. Inspect the cable. The connection cable and insulation must be intact.

3. Connectors should be clean and dry.

4. Rinse salt deposits with water or deionized water.

CALIBRATION
pH sensing bulbs become less sensitive over time, so be sure to calibrate regularly to keep the MI456 minititrator readings accurate. Also, calibrate after cleaning or prolonged storage.
