Description
The HI 3817 is a chemical test kit that measures six common parameters in water quality testing: alkalinity, chloride, hardness, iron, pH, and sulfite. This kit is equipped with all the reagents and accessories needed to perform more than 100 tests for each parameter, with the exception of iron, which includes reagents for 50 tests.
The pH is obtained with Hanna’s electronic pH meter pHep® which guarantees greater accuracy and a longer shelf life than traditional litmus paper.
The HI 3817 is a chemical test kit that uses titration, colorimetry, and direct measurement to measure six parameters common to water quality testing: alkalinity, chloride, hardness, iron, pH, and sulfite. The HI 3817 is supplied with all the reagents and equipment needed to perform each analysis and all reagents are available individually when they run out.
General Features:
– All necessary materials are included with the test kit, such as pH meter, sample cup, indicator and reagent bottles and sachets, and color comparison cube are included
– All tests provide high resolution based on the expected measurement range.
– No need to buy a new kit when reagents run out. The items for each parameter can be sorted individually.
Importance of Use
Six of the most common water quality parameters can be analyzed with this combined chemical test kit. The kit includes tests for: alkalinity, chloride, hardness, iron, pH, and sulfite.
These parameters are important for determining the corrosive characteristics of water due to the presence of carbonates and chloride. Sulfite is also essential to prevent cracking and oxidation of metal components.
A high level of sulfite results in a reduced pH that can also promote corrosion in drinking water infrastructure. This kit is ideal not only for professionals, but also for environmental science students as it offers great performance and ease of use.
The HI 3817 is equipped with all the accessories and reagents to perform multiple tests for each parameter. The pHep, our popular pH meter, is included for your convenience.
This small, easy-to-use pH meter provides more accurate and reliable pH readings than traditional litmus paper. The pHep® has the quality of being ideal for introducing students to the use of a pH meter.
