Description
TM-206 Solar Energy Meter
– 31/2 digit LCD display with a maximum reading of 2000.
– Measurement of solar radiation emitted by the sun.
– Display units: W/m2 (Watts per square meter) or BTU.
– Data hold/MAX/MIN functions.
Product Character
The TM-206 solar energy meter is ideal for measuring the solar radiation emitted by the sun from a nuclear fusion reaction that creates electromagnetic energy.
The spectrum of solar radiation is close to that of a black body with a temperature of about 5800 K. About half of the radiation is in the visible shortwave part of the electromagnetic spectrum. The other half is mostly in the near-infrared part, with some in the ultraviolet part of the spectrum.
The units of measurement are Watts per square meter or BTU, typical test and measurement applications are:
– Weather applications
– Agricultural applications
– Physics and optics laboratories
– Measurement of solar radiation.
– Solar transmission measurement
– Solar energy research
– Identify high-performance windows
– Useful for configuring photovoltaic solar panels at optimal angles of incidence
– Measurement of light intensity for car windows.
Specifications:
– Display: 3 1/2 digits. Max. indication 2000
– Range: 2000W/m², 634 BTU (ft²*h)
– Resolution: 0.1 W/m², 0.1 BTU (ft²*h)
– Accuracy: Normally within ± 10 W/m² [± 3 BTU (ft²*h)] or ± 5%, whichever is greater than sunlight; additional temperature-induced error ± 0.38 W/m²/°C [± 0.12 BTU (ft²*h)/°C] from 25°C
