Description
Portable Galvanic Dissolved Oxygen Meter – HI9147
The HI9147 is a rugged, waterproof dissolved oxygen meter designed to provide accuracy and precision in harsh environmental conditions. The meter features manual calibration at one point, automatic temperature compensation, and salinity and altitude compensation.
The HI9147 is supplied with HDPE galvanic membranes, electrolyte filler solution, protective shield and a robust carrying case.
Dissolved oxygen is a commonly measured parameter in aquaculture, wastewater treatment, environmental studies, and wine analysis. The HI9147 is a rugged, waterproof dissolved oxygen meter designed to provide accuracy and precision in harsh environmental conditions. The meter features manual calibration at one point, automatic temperature compensation, and salinity and altitude compensation.
The HI9147 includes a galvanic probe with replaceable high-density polyethylene (HDPE) membrane and a protective shield. Salinity compensation allows for the determination of dissolved oxygen even in saltwater, making it an ideal meter for aquaculture applications. The HI9147 is supplied complete and ready to use.
General Features
Replaceable Membranes – Prestressed high-density polyethylene (HDPE) membranes employ a screw cap design that can be quickly changed by simply filling with the HI7042 electrolyte solution and screwing it into the DO probe.
Galvanic Measurement System – The meter and probe use galvanic sensor technology where the potential difference of the electrodes drives the reaction without the need for an external voltage. The probe is composed of a silver cathode and a zinc anode in an electrolyte solution held in place on the surface of the electrodes by a polymer membrane. Oxygen diffuses across the membrane and the system establishes a current proportional to the concentration of dissolved oxygen present.
Automatic Temperature Compensation – All readings are automatically compensated for temperature variations with a high-precision thermistor temperature sensor built in behind a stainless steel cover.
Altitude Compensation – The HI9147 allows altitude compensation up to 4000 meters with a resolution of 100 meters.
Salinity Compensation – Salinity compensation is adjustable from 0 to 51 g/L (ppt) with a resolution of 1 g/L for DO measurement in brackish and marine waters.
Illuminated LCD Display – The HI9147 has a backlit display for easy viewing of readings in low-light conditions.
