Description
Hanna HI3843 Hypochlorite Chemical Kit
HI3843-100 are high quality, pre-prepared reagents, allowing users to achieve fast and accurate hypochlorite measurements with the chemical test kit.
These reagents follow an iodometric titration method to determine the hypochlorite concentration.
For the determination of hypochlorite, a slow reaction with iodide in acid solution takes place with the chlorine present in the sample. The amount of iodine generated is equivalent to the chlorine in the sample.
The released iodine is then titrated with a standard solution of sodium thiosulfate which reduces the iodine to iodide ions. The number of titrator drops used to reach the visual endpoint will determine the hypochlorite as mg/L chlorine (Cl2).
These reagents are designed for use with samples that have an expected hypochlorite range of 50 to 150 mg/L Cl2.
The Hanna HI3843 chemical kit is designed for the accurate measurement of hypochlorite in water. It is a practical and reliable solution for quality control in industrial applications, water treatment plants, aquariums and laboratories.
