Nickel is commonly used by the electroplating industry in processes using stainless steel, cobalt, or nickel alloys.
Nickel is also used in batteries, fuel cells, and hydrogenation of vegetable oils in the food industry.
HI 96726 meters measure the nickel content in water and wastewater. They use a unique positive locking system to ensure that the cuvette is in the same place every time it is placed in the measuring cell.
The tray has a very important role because it is an optical element and therefore requires particular attention. It is important that both measuring and calibration (steel reduction) cuvettes are identical so that they offer the same measurement conditions. Whenever possible, the same bucket should be used for both.
Even though nickel is considered to be non-toxic to humans, concentrations found in wastewater above 0.5 mg/l (ppm) can cause harm to certain plants and aquatic life.
