Description
These high-precision digital laboratory refractometers measure concentrations in brix, salinity, refractive index, and clinical parameters with a full-scale accuracy of 0.1% using CCD (= linear scan array imaging) technology. These refractometers are easy to use, calibrate with distilled water, and require a sample size of only 0.4 mL. They instantly display the temperature in addition to multiple scales with the unit of measurement indicated on the large LCD screen.
The sophisticated microprocessor provides automatic calibration, automatic temperature compensation (ATC), automatic shutdown (after 3 minutes), and minimal/maximum visual alarms. The low power consumption allows for 5000 readings, before the LCD screen indicates that the battery needs to be replaced. The water-resistant design protects electronics from wet environments and makes cleaning easier. It comes ready to use with a 9V battery, distilled water, a transfer pipette, instructions, and a protective case. Two standard models are available in this series, which vary according to the range.
Brix refractometers, which are also called sugar refractometers, are commonly used in the food and beverage, agriculture, and wine industries. Fruit growers will use a refractometer to check the sugar content of the fruit on the vine and determine the best time for harvest.
